Green Light in my eye

I’m a life long learner in every way.  Mistakes help us grow and learn from “mistake experience” from a different perspective.

What I’m wearing: Talula Trooper Jacket | Aldo Booties | AA Leggings | Mendocino Denim Button up

The trick is…………… not to make the same mistake twice!

It’s so fire and it’s all mine

I’ve been secretly obsessed ok not so secretly obsessed with the Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Strips.  I’m particularly in love with the Kitty Kitty, Frock Star and Strip-Tease.  And just recently, I actually stumbled upon this new one called Simply D-Vine.  Funny thing now is I can’t find this pattern anywhere!

They are super easy to use and make for a nice change from the regular solid nail colour.   Even if, if you put a half effort into putting them on (see above where my pinky and thumb nail aren’t fully covered) they still look sleek and professional.

Brand new me

A few days ago I watched the movie Silver Linings Playbook.  I particularly liked the message in the  movie …If you remain positive, you’ll have a chance at a silver lining.  Definitely some truth to that – but also easier said then done.

The serious lack of sunshine is making me dreary.  I need to remind myself to keep things light and optimistic: sleep enough, eat healthy, work out, be creative, engage in activities that make you feel good, be thankful, hang out with friends, create a vision board, make goals, fix your attitude, listen to music, change nail polish …ahem ;)

Essie: Mod Squad

This nail colour totally lifted my mood earlier this week.  The pink is a perfect memento that spring will return.

On another note, I am having some serious neuron pathway generation using the Mac Air.  Having been a PC user my entire life – I feel stupid it feels weird not knowing how to do simple tasks on my laptop.  Yes I know I can customize the way it works, but I’m kind of enjoying this learning curve!

I’ve got a war in my mind

A new but welcomed concept to me is combining sun salutations with running.  But require focus of the mind and body so I can see how the two should be partnered.

Something that is not new to me is colour blocking my nails.  So happy that this trend is still around during the winter months.

Sally Hansen – Xtreme Wear Hard as Nails: Lilac Zing & Lacey Lilac

I am going to get back into running …soon… and this time I’ll be playing closer attention to my stretching. In saying that, I plan on swimming tomorrow.  My cross training has to be just as important to me as my focus, stretching, strengthening and running.

What is hiding in those weak and drunken hearts

I really change my nail polish way too often.  On any given day of the week, our condo is littered with bottles of lacquer.  Why I get bored with my nails so quickly is beyond me.

I first time I purchased a shatter polish was in Paris (at the Champ Elysee Sephora) about 2 years ago.

OPI: Do you Lilac it?

Since then, I’ve purchased a few more shatter polishes but OPI seems to do it best.  The “cracked” looks is more even and black shatter seems to go with everything.

I do love me a little …ox blood?! Well yes this nail colour is the perfect red for Fall.  Equally important is how well it compliments my skin tone.  I should know, can’t tell you how many maroon-burgandy polishes I tried.  Additionally this polish goes well with the salwar suit I’m wearing today.  Time for some fireworks!

Happy Diwali!!

Happy Halloween!
The Hubz and I went to a costume party in Hamilton over the weekend.  Cop and Robber is our fall back costume of choice.  We wanted to be more creative this year – but time and money wasn’t really a priority when it came to halloween.  Next year we’ve vowed to start early and DIY our costumes…its more fun that way.

Ruby rules the Yule

Something about red makes life more vibrant.  Indian bridal wear, Sexy red lipstick, the perfect red pumps….and this polish by OPI.

Red Rules The Yule – Nicole by OPI

I think this is a polish from their christmas collection.  But I find that OPI polish goes on smooth with full coverage.  And it stays shiny for days.  Red is probably the only colour I can keep on my nails longer than three days :$
